So How Can I Help You?

We are all unique individuals, and this shapes the way I work.   Different people need different things at different times, and I sought out a therapy approach that provides flexibility, and is predominantly goal focused, but also allows you to work through any aspects of your past that are holding you back.

Sometimes a diagnosis or ‘label’ can be helpful, but other times it can be limiting, which is why I like to get to know you as your own person, so our work together can be tailored to your needs.  Some people find that one or two sessions are enough, whilst others prefer to have many more.  Some people visit me every week whilst others prefer a longer gap between sessions.  Some people just want to talk whilst others want to explore strategies or different ways of thinking.  Some people are logical thinkers whilst others are creative – whatever fits best with you is how we’ll work.

We are all unique individuals with unique stories, and this shapes the way I work with you.

The best way is to fill out the contact form here, and give me a brief line or two about what you would like help with.  If you provide me with the best method of contact and some details of your availability, I’ll contact you as soon as possible, usually on the same or the next day.

I work in a first floor office at Chelsea House Clinic, Inverurie, which has private parking off Constitution Street, and is 5 minutes’ walk from the train station within Inverurie town centre.

What you say in counselling is confidential and what’s discussed stays between us, however there are a few exceptions which I will discuss at our first meeting.

Our agreements depend on your age.  I am happy to have a free, confidential, no obligation telephone conversation or face to face meeting with a young person (under the age of 16) to explain the BACP legal and ethical boundaries I have to work to.

I will also discuss where confidentiality sits when you are under 16, or if someone else is paying for your sessions.
Please don’t let it put you off.

Contact me so we can talk about it.

Yes, at present I work 2 evenings a week.  If daytime appointments are unsuitable.

Everyone is unique, with their own ‘back story’, and their own unique situation, and our sessions will be entirely directed by this.  The best thing is for us to discuss your situation and work out a plan that will be therapeutically beneficial and fits all your needs.
